The TV Networks are under the assault of the new technologies - YahooVideo and others.

But we should notice that television in its classical form has always been assaulted by technological competitors, having to continuously redefine itself. The key concept that continues to define television networks is the brand and this is given essentially by the users' perception. It is a television program what the people calls a television program.

It has to be noticed that the commodization of the video recording technology, as well as the new efficient distribution methods offered by the global technological players like Yahoo, Google etc., make the televisions competitors for practically everyone. If before there was a very clear distinction between those that produced and those that watched a material, now this distinction is gone.
Under these conditions it is obviously what the best way to survive is in an area where competition on user's attention is more powerful than ever. Clearly there are three distinctive strategies:
ignoring the assault of the online contents and maintain the attention to the broadcast;

alliances with technological partners that aggregate content, coming from televisions, but as well as from private persons, and sharing the revenues resulted from such deals;

creating one's own online instruments for distribution of one's content.
